Yeah, today was my first swimming lesson, and by the end of the one hour session, I was lazily floating across the pool like a corpse, humming Feuer Frei! by Rammstein and re-playing VH1-MTV's Midnight Headbanger's Ball in my head. That's the only neat thing I've seen on VH1 apart from their occasional Classic Rock programmes. Most of the time they show only stupid Rap & Pop music, can't bear it. As of now, Headbanger's Ball show is the best source for people who can't download videos from the net due to *grumble, grumble* stupid data transfer limits and general disinclination to pay like 900 p.m just to be able to download some song videos. Let it become Free, then I'll switch over plans. :-) The show comes on VH1 at an excellent unearthly (sort of) hour of 12:00 AM every Friday-Saturday joints, that is, it comes from 12:00 - 1:00 AM on early Saturday mornings.
Presently I'm sort of cursing myself at rejecting the swimming goggles and opening my eyes all the time underwater, which was highly chlorinated. Net result, I had such an eye-irritation that I had to sleep for 3 hours instead of the planned study in order to be able to keep my eyes open now. I enjoyed swimming of course, one gets hooked up to semi-weightlessness after a while. I would have kept my eyes closed underwater had small kids decided not to continuously collide with me mid-way as if simulating the Kinetic Theory of Gases. I wonder if there exist equations for root mean square speeds inside a swimming pool.

Yeah, currently I pay 279 per month, and I find the idea of paying 900ish for unlimited data really stupid.
I tried those goggles myself recently.Something really funny happened.I never open my eyes under water while floating.(Whenever I did I couldn't see anything but the murky water)I put the goggles on, opened my eyes and saw a crystal clear terrifying image.Me floating 4.5 feet above the floor of the pool with no visible means of support at all :-).I floundered, lost my balance and went in headfirst. When I opened my eyes above water with the glasses on I couldn't see a thing because my glasses were coated with water.I chucked the goggles away and never used them again. It's back to the close your eyes policy for me.
BTW you don't go swimming in the sports complex next to KV, do you ?
KV JNU.
I find the goggles useful underwater, but mine are actually ones borrowed from my brother and don't fit me all too well. So I have to push it especially hard on my face and often it fills up when underwater.. more nuisance than helpful. Anyway, I found that my eyes have sort of adjusted themselves to the higher chlorine levels and didn't burn all that much afterwards on Day 2 even though I spent the second half of the session without goggles.
I used to take Swimming coaching last year. Goggles were pretty useful when I swam underwater in the "10-feet" area. God, I miss swimming.
I learnt swimming when I was..7 I think.Swimming is really cool! But the water there was good so no goggles were needed..Hope u learn your swimming lessons soon.

This water is highly chlorinated.. burns the eyes. I had the misfortune of swallowing some of it when I started at the deep end yesterday. It appears that I've suddenly developed stomach troubles and a sore throat. Hmm.. I wonder how I got those ailments.
